SONS waren schon mehrfach in der Schweiz zu Gast und sind hierzulande dennoch noch immer ein Geheimtipp. Doch in ihrer Heimat und auch in unseren Nachbarländern verändert sich gerade etwas. Mit ihrem jüngsten Album «Sweet Boy» spielen die Belgier immer mehr ausverkaufte Konzerte. Eben erst gab es für drei von vier Konzerten in Frankreich keine Tickets mehr (in Paris, La Roche-sur-Yon und Angers). Zuhause steht demnächst in Antwerpen eine Show mit einer Kapazität von 1100 Zuschauern an. Ende Februar gibt es die Gelegenheit die Live-Wucht von SONS zweimal in der Schweiz zu erleben.
SONS have already been guests in Switzerland a few times and are still an insider tip in this country. But something is changing in their home country and also in our neighbouring countries. With their latest album "Sweet Boy", the Belgians are playing more and more sold-out concerts. Just recently, there were no tickets left for three out of four concerts in France (in Paris, La Roche-sur-Van and Angers). At home, in Antwerp, a show with a capacity of 1100 people is coming up soon. End of February, there will be two opportunities to experience the live power of SONS in Switzerland again.

Belgien feiert nebst seinem Nachbarland den Niederlanden nicht nur die Indie-Musik wie kaum eine andere Region in Europa, das kleine Land bringt auch regelmässig schlagkräftige Musikexporte hervor. Darunter Acts wie die legendären dEUS, Balthazar oder jüngst The Haunted Youth. Aber auch SONS sind eine Band, die kurz davor ist, in unseren Gefilden richtig Fuss zu fassen. Im Sommer war das Quartett auf den Festivalbühnen unterwegs und kehrt nun mit ihrem neusten Album Sweet Boy für zwei Konzerte in die Schweiz zurück. Es sind meist solche intime und schweisstreibende Clubs-Shows, die für magische und unvergessliche Live-Momente sorgen.
Belgium, along with its neighbour the Netherlands, not only celebrates indie music like almost no other region in Europe, the small country also regularly produces powerful music exports. Among them are acts like the legendary dEUS, Balthazar or, most recently, The Haunted Youth. But SONS are also a band that is on the verge of really gaining a foothold in our climes. Last summer, the quartet was on the road on the festival stages and is now returning to Switzerland for two concerts with their latest album Sweet Boy. It's usually intimate and sweaty club shows like these that make for magical and unforgettable live moments.

Für Alternative-Acts ist der Radiosender KEXP aus Seattle so etwas wie der heilige Gral. Die Live-Session kommen jeweils mit einer unvergleichlichen Qualität daher, dass sie einer Band die perfekte Bühne bieten. Auch SONS kam anlässlich des Iceland Airwaves 2019 diese Ehre zuteil. In der gut 30-minütigen Performance spürt man die geballte Live-Energie der Belgier durch den Bildschirm. Wucht und Spielfreude springen einen förmlich an. Dass das noch einmal verstärkt wird, wenn man direkt vor der Bühne steht, versteht sich wohl von selbst. Gönnt euch also wieder einmal eine gute Portion Live-Musik abseits des Mainstreams und besucht eines der beiden Konzerte in der Schweiz, am 24. Februar in Baden oder am 25. Februar in Bulle.
For alternative acts, the Seattle-based radio station KEXP is something of a holy grail. The live sessions are of such incomparable quality that they provide the perfect stage for a band. SONS also received this honour of such a session on the occasion of Iceland Airwaves 2019. In the 30-minute performance, you can feel the concentrated live energy of the Belgians through the screen. The force and joy of playing literally jumps out at you. It goes without saying that this is intensified even more when you are standing directly in front of the stage. So treat yourself once again to a good portion of live music away from the mainstream and visit one of the two concerts in Switzerland, on 24 February in Baden or on 25 February in Bulle.
